Encuentro # 2 is ready (and already made it’s debut at the NYC Feminist Zine Fest back in march)! Yes, this post is way overdue 🙂
It was one of the most challenging printing experiences I’ve had to date. However, I learned so much about the printing process, my limits, and strengths. Most importantly I found how to make time to create, and finally printed at home for the first time. Needless to say, I’m proud of this issue.
I was a lot more successful at merging the image and text than I was with Encuentro #1, but it’s an ongoing challenge. Due to the size and format of Encuentro # 2 I didn’t get as in depth as I would have liked. Some things to consider on the next issue would be: 1-changing the format to one that’s more suitable to a large amount of text or 2-finding ways to communicate using less text.
Goodies from my Found:Ephemera Pack. There were tons of old tickets, labels, cocktail recipes and even playing cards. My favorite was an old notebook sheet filled with school notes. There were also some old library catalog cards that look like they were used to keep score for a game at some point. The best part of it all is that everything still smells like a flea market!
